Many Congratulations to this P.5. Years of hard work have resulted
in his being awarded his Black Belt in Sooyang Do. |

Congratulations to this P.4 Dancer who displays the medals and
certificates she was awarded having achieved a Commended in her Bronze
Highland and her pre-Bronze National exams. |

No wonder this P.4 Gymnast is looking so proud.
She competed in the age 8/9 Beginners Woman's Artistic 2 Piece
competition, this consists of a vault and floor routine.
She did really well and was awarded Silver for her floor routine, Gold
for her vault and the Gold Medal and Trophy for the highest overall
score in her section.
Along with three other Club members they won the team gold for the
highest combined score.

This young gymnast, a member of the Beacon Gymnastics Club,
displays an impressive array of trophies gained at the City of Aberdeen
Gymnastics competition, competing at Intermediate level.
She won Silver for her Floor work, Gold for her Vault, Gold and the
trophy for 1st overall and her team also won Gold.

Congratulations to this P.4 who displays the medals she won swimming in
a 'mini-meet' at Elgin. She was placed in the 25m Front Crawl, 50m
Freestyle, 50m Butterfly and 25m Medley relay.
This is a great achievement, well done! |

Congratulations to the P.4 girls team who won the team award at this
year's Big Run.
We were very well represented at The Big Run and pictures of all the
Hazlehead runners can be seen on the Active schools page.
Well done to all of you for your commitment and success. |

Well Done to this P.5 who gained two gold medals in a Karate
competition at the Sports Village, Well Done! |
This P.4 is very proud to be football training
with Dundee. He trains once a week at Kaimhill in Aberdeen and really
enjoys it. |

Very Well Done to the whole P.6 Class who entered a competition to write
a poem about an animal they find interesting.
They were represented by this group at the Natural History Museum, in
the Zoology building at Aberdeen University, where they were
awarded first prize.
On the 8th June 'The Wild Bus' from Edinburgh Zoo will visit school for the whole class to
enjoy. |

This former pupil, now at Hazlehead Academy was presented with a Special
Achievement award by Albion Boys Club. He played for Hazlehead Primary
whilst a pupil here, with Albion for many years and has now signed for
Dundee. |

Former pupil Callum Wemyss won first place in the Ishoka
Young Musician of the Year competition. He was selected to be one
of 6 finalists, from 17 performances. He first began playing
the saxophone with Mrs. Mann in the Primary.
Having just finished his 6th year at Hazlehead Academy Callum is also
believed to be the first Aberdeen pupil to complete the Scottish
Baccalaureate Interdisciplinary Programme. |

Of seven S4 Academy pupils to receive certificates in the UK
Intermediate Maths Challenge four were former Hazlehead Primary pupils.
Ashleigh Newlands gained a Bronze, Mairi Bell, Stuart Morrison and Paul
Barron got the only Gold Awards, with Paul achieving the best in School. |

Well Done to this P.1 who was awarded a Medal for competing in a
rugby competition, at Mackie Academy, with the Aberdeen Wanderers
(Hazlehead) Micro Rugby team. |
This P.7 did extremely well in the Cults Otter's
swimming gala. She displays the collection of medals which she gained by
coming 6th in Back-crawl, 5th in Butterfly, 4th in Front-crawl and a
silver in a Medley relay race with three other people. |

Congratulations to this P.7 who competed in a competition at
Hayfield Stables on 17th April. There were 15 people in it and only six
of them got through. She ended in 3rd place in the novice class, on a
pony called Samson |
We are very proud of these boys and girls who ran the 1.5k at the Balmoral
Run Sunday 25th April.
This is a great event attracting people of all
ages from throughout the country. The pupil on the right was accompanied by
3 generations of his family!
It is tremendous that so many people with links to Hazlehead took part
and as you can see below there were many proud medal holders in school.
Mrs. Jones and Sue ran the 10k as did
Parent Council chair Anita Martin. |

Very well done to this P.7 who went to Strathallan
School in Perthshire, in the holidays, to play in a tennis competition
called the Scottish Inter-District Championship. She was away for three
days and her team came third. |

Congratulations to this P.5 who was awarded this trophy in February for
performing the best in her dancing school in the 'musical theatre'
exams. |

This lucky P.1 took to the slopes in France at Easter, did well to
achieve his 'Flocan', and is now tackling 'blue' runs. |
 |

Having gained her Level 1 award for rock climbing, at
R.G.U ,this P.5 is now working towards her Level 2.

This P.5 showed her class the plaque she was awarded for Highland
dancing. Congratulations |

Congratulations to this P.5 who was runner-up in Dobbies' 'Eggy Cress
Men' competition, held as part of the launch of their new premises. He
won a painting set as his prize. |
Well Done to his P.1 who proudly displays the medal
she received for taking part in the Sport Relief Mile at the Duthie
Park. |

This P.7 is doing really well in the field of Squash.
He is ranked 11th in Scotland in his age group.
He has been playing squash for three years and has three coaching
sessions a week at Aberdeen Squash Racquets club, as well as training
himself other days.
Well Done for you commitment and success. |
P.6 and P.3 classes were awarded the Excellence Trophy for
being so good at tidying the Dinner Hall after their lunch.
The Catering ladies commented on what a huge difference it made to them. |

fischy Leaders Jed and Sandy was published. This was drawn following
their visit to the school. |
P.4, P.5 Mrs. Baillie's class and the Nursery were the first to be Awarded the Excellence Trophy, as the
joint winners
in the Healthy Play Piece Spot check.

P.6 received certificates from Scottish power, Friends of the Earth
Scotland and the Edinburgh International Book Festival as a thank them
for having participated in the 2009 'Story Swap shop' |

Awards went to this P.7 who proudly then received the Taylor Trophy and
his Gold Badge.Very Well Done! |
