Sports Week

We have had such a fantastic time at our Sport Week events this week. Everyone tried their best and should be hugely proud of themselves.

It was so lovely to see lots of mums and dads helping or watching this week too! I hope you enjoyed yourselves.

Here are some photos of our time this week…

Messy Garden and Space-Themed Play!

We had a busy day yesterday in P2S! Here are some photos:
In the Messy Garden we did some tree identification which the children were fantastic at! We also decided to investigate nettles under magnifying glasses to see why they can sting people. We couldn’t believe how spikey the leaves looked!
In the afternoon we read “Man on the Moon” and then had some space-themed play stations. We were so excited to be joined by P2N/M for these stations.

Term 3 favourites

One of our favourite things this term was our dance block with Laura from Citymoves. In our dance block we have been learning about cooperation and working with others. The children have done a fantastic job with this and can now spot other times in their learning where they are cooperating with others.
Another favourite has been our time with Mandy from Mud Pies in the Messy Garden. This week we were set the challenge of creating bird’s nests for a “baby bird”. Mandy also very kindly brought in some real birds’ nests for us to hold which was very interesting. Please see some photos below.

Messy Garden

Yesterday in the messy garden we were practicing our teamwork skills by working in partners to create a shelter for a teddy. Everyone worked really well with their partners and came up with some fantastic shelters. Here are some photos…

World Book Day

Here are some photos of us having a great time participating in all the fantastic World Book Day activities!

Its Been Groovy in P2S…

We have been learning all about the 1970s – click on our groovy picture to see our Thinglink explaining everything we have learned…

Jubilee Street Party

As part of our Cross Curricular topic on 1970s, we have been learning about how the Queen’s Silver Jubilee was celebrated in 1977. So we decided to go back in time and have our own mini street party! We came dressed in red, white or blue, created invitations, bunting, crowns, ate some pineapple and cheese hedgehogs and played some games to 70s music. Here are some photos from our party:

Monday 6th Dec Local Area Walk

P2S had a fantastic time on our local area walk this week. We had previously written letters to some friends in the other P2 class so first we went to post the letters at our local post box. We then carried on our walk to Craigiebuckler Church. We learnt some interesting facts about the building and their new Christmas lights. Here are some pictures of us out and about:
