Platinum Jubilee Celebrations
We had the best day celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We did some Jubilee crafts, a treasure hunt, watched a super magic show and had some party food.
Steph the Chef comes to visit.
In our Health working group we have been looking at different exercises. We are planning to organise an obstacle course for some of the classes with the help from P1D. We made postcards to Steph for some ideas and asked if she could help us. She used to be our school chef and is now a personal trainer. She came to visit us today to show us some ideas, it was great fun!
A very exciting morning in P3 this morning. We released our butterflies. We have loved watching them grow from caterpillars into beautiful butterflies
Well what a fabulous afternoon for our sports day. Everyone did so well and should all be very proud. We had some worthy winners.
Sports Day Practise
We are super excited because it is Sports Day next week. It has been a busy week preparing and practising!
A bit of a wet afternoon today in the messy garden but it was absolutely perfect for den building! We were put into groups of 3 and were all given one tarpaulin, one rope and 3 pegs and look what we produced. Lots of excellent team work.
This week we have been exploring kilograms and grams. We used the giant scales to measure items around the classroom.
Our Overview – What We Are Learning In Term 4
RGU Sports Students
We were developing our throwing, catching and kicking skills in a game of Kickball. The RGU students will be with us for the next 3 weeks to teach us different sports. The sun was shining and we had lots of fun.
There was great excitement in P3 this morning as our frog spawn arrived. We are very excited to watch them grow!
This week in the messy garden we had lots of fun building dens for our wee friends.
P3 had lots of fun with this colour of the rainbow science experiment. They started with a red, blue and yellow cup and ended up with all the colours of the rainbow!
Author Visit – Stuart Reid
P3 were delighted to welcome author Stuart Reid this week. He shared his stories as well as the writing process behind them. The children got the opportunity to buy some of his books and he signed them for the pupils.
The ARCHIE Foundation
We are part of the Health Working Group. On Friday morning we had a Google meet with Cassie from The Archie Foundation. This is the charity that our working group supports. She told us all about the charity and answered our questions. We look forward to working with them in term 4.
World Book Day Fun!
We had such a fun day celebrating World Book Day. We went to the school book swap, took part in a teacher book hunt and had a lovely trip to the library. We also had lots of stories and created some bunting of our favourite characters.
Judy Murray – Battle of the Brits
We had an absolutely fabulous morning with Judy Murray. We had amazing questions and some of us got to show her our latest news reports too! This google meet was part of William’s prize for winning the drawing competition for Battle of the Brits.

60s Inspired Artwork
We have been learning all about the 60s. We have created some 60s inspired artwork using lots of different patterns and bright colours.
In our Netball lesson this week we worked on bounce passes. Some lucky people managed to get a goal- well done!
Our Big Bird Watch Birds
We have been working in art with Mrs Gordon and we have decorated the rotunda with our birds. We did this preparation for the RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch

Battle of the Brits Winner
William has won the Battle of the Brits competition which was to design a poster to show what sport means to you. He’s won tickets to see The Battle of the Brits Scotland v’s England at the P and J Exhibition Centre on the 22nd of December for his family, his poster will be displayed in the players Dressing Room and we get a video chat with Judy and Jamie Murray! Well done William, the whole school is delighted!
Recycling Centre Visit
We had a fantastic visit to the Recycling Centre over at Hazlehead Park. We found out lots of interesting facts. We even did some recycling when we were there – thanks to Nicholas!

We had a very excited William today in P3! He had won the Battle of the Brits poster competition where he had to draw what sport means to you? He has won tickets for his family to go to see the competition Scotland v’s England later in the month and his poster will be displayed in the participants dressing room. But there’s more – he’s also won a video call with Judy and Jamie Murray. Very well done William we are all very proud
