P4H

We have a very busy and exciting term planned for the pupils in P4H.  With Christmas nearly upon us, we will be fully submerged making personal calendars, cards, decorations and of course, practising for our Christmas Show.  This year our show is Cinderella Rockerfella, which is guaranteed to be a lively and exciting performance!

This term, the Primary 4 Interdisciplinary Learning (IDL) topic is Hazlehead Inc.  Both P4 classes have joined together to create their own business focused on improving the life of the school.  With many great ideas such as ‘Litter be Gone’, ‘Get FIT’ and ‘Super Storytellers’, everyone is looking forward to seeing the businesses grow and evolve.

Homework will be given out on a Thursday and returned for the following Tuesday. There will be a mixture of literacy and numeracy based tasks, designed to reinforce what has been learnt in class.  There will also be a range of IDL activities, to deepen our understanding of the business world.

Spelling words are developed on Monday and practised throughout the week.  The pupils will receive their spelling words on a Monday via Google Classroom, before the spelling test on Friday.  Children are encouraged to practice at home, but are not required to submit anything.

Please help your child develop their personal organisation by encouraging them to use their homework diary every day. Important messages home will be written in homework diaries. Children are also encouraged to bring water bottles into class, to ensure that they are suitably hydrated.

Children are encouraged to bring a personal reading book into class.  Books can also be signed out from the School Library, which we will visit on a Monday morning.  P4H are now well on their way using the Accelerated Reader programme and we have already celebrated many children achieving their targets!  Well done!
