This morning is a very exciting time as you will be meeting your Primary 2 teacher!!🎉🌟 Have a think about what you will be looking forward to in Primary 2 and you can share this at your meeting 😀 You should all be able to access your Meet the Teacher time link.😀 If anyone can not access the link please let me know.
This week we will be doing a mixture of activities as we wind down for the holidays. We will continue on our Disney adventure, I know this has been a lot of fun! We also have a selection of numeracy, art and PE activities which you can choose to do. We haven’t put on reading or a Home Learning slide for this week however if there is anything you would like to share please pop it on the stream or send me a message.😀 I have attached a children’s well-being questionnaire below, please if possible can you take a little time to complete this with your child, thank you.

How was your weekend? I hope you all had some time to relax. Saturday was roasty toasty but Sunday was a bit of a mix…☔🌈🌞
This week and next we will be going on a Disney adventure, check out this weeks assignment. In numeracy we will be investigating volume and capacity some more. Mrs Webster has set some PE challenges for you and Mrs Fisher has an art task for all the artists out there.😀
Wednesday is our Whole School Picnic Day, so no school work, lets hope the sun shines for us!🥪🧃🌞🌳

Good Morning everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend, what happened to our lovely warm weather? I hope you still managed to get outside and enjoy time with your family.
This week we will be focusing on the ‘oo’ sound in Literacy as well as creating some space adventure story maps. In Numeracy we will continue to be learning about measurement. We will be developing our mathematical language and estimating and investigating the weight of different objects. In health we are going to be looking at how we look after ourselves. Please see below for the overview links, as usual all activities will be on classroom.

Week 9 – Week beginning 1st June 2020

How are you all, did you have a good weekend, I hope so.
This week will continue practising our sounds, spelling and reading. I know you are all working really hard. If you are finding anything particularly tricky please let me know.
in numeracy we are going to be carrying on with measuring and will be learning about the use of hand and foot spans for measurement.
In Health this week will be learning all about ourselves and how we look after ourselves.
Mrs Fisher has given us a special art activity to do this week. If you would like to take part, the details are in the Health doc.

Week beginning 25th May 2020- Week 8
Hello Primary 1 and welcome to another week of online learning. This is a super exciting week as we have our virtual sport’s day/week, make sure you get your scores in before Friday at 3pm!
In Literacy this week we will be consolidating the sounds ‘ph’ and ‘wh’ and in numeracy we will continue with our measure topic. Please see below for links of the week’s learning, Your activities will be in your classwork on Google Classroom as usual.

Good morning Primary 1😀
How are you all today? I hope you have all had a nice weekend. I had a good weekend, I enjoyed some nice walks with Blue and had a really fine fish supper from the chip shop. It was so tasty, my first one in ages!😊
This week in literacy we will be introducing our new sound ‘ph’. We will also begin our very special transition project. In numeracy we are going to be learning about measurement. We will be developing our mathematical language as well as estimating and investigating the different sizes of objects.

I hope you have all had a relaxing weekend.
This week in literacy is a consolidation week. This means we will be revisiting the sounds ‘sh’, ‘ch’, ‘th’ and ‘ng’. We will be carrying on investigating fractions in numeracy. Activity details are on the Week 5 Literacy and Numeracy documents in this weeks classwork folder.
Hopefully the weather will be nice again and you will be able to spend some more time out and about.

This week we have introduced the sound ‘th’.
Action: Pretend to be naughty clowns and stick out tongue a little for th, and further for th (this and thumb).
Ask your child to have a go at reading and writing a selection of the following words

For pancake day we loved making our pancake mix. We then had a practise flipping a pretend pancake! It was a lot of fun!

Primary 1 braced the cold this afternoon and took their learning outside, to make sure their Scottish Country Dancing was up to scratch for the whole school Ceilidh tomorrow. What fantastic concentration and rhythm shown by all the children!
The Jolly Postman’s new vans have arrived!
Primary One have been sharing their creations with their friends. We have been enjoying hearing all about their special features and how they were made.
The Journey of a Letter
Primary One have been learning about the journey of a letter. We made Christmas cards for our friends and posted them in the postbox next to our school. We can’t wait to receive them!
As civil engineers the Primary 1s were designing Baby Bear a new house.

Balmedie Beach Trip
Primary 1 had a super visit to Blamedie Beach on Thursday the 7th November. We met with the primary 5s from Balmedie School who shared some of their learning with us at the Beach Bothy. They sang us a song which they had written & recorded to CD for selling. It was fantastic. They then took us to the beach to build sandcastles, dig for treasure and hunt for shells. We also managed time for a wee play in the park. Thank you to Mrs Duncan and the Primary 5s for looking after us and making it such a fun visit.
