The Three Little Pigs
We looked at the story of The Three Little Pigs. We tried to make their houses – from straw, sticks and bricks. It was a bit challenging to build our houses of straw and sticks but we worked together and used our problem solving skills to make them. We then tested whether the little pigs could fit in their house and whether the big, bad wolf could blow it down!
We prepared talks about our favourite fairy tale. We retold the story, spoke about why the fairy tale is our favourite, said who our favourite character is and why, and answered questions from our friends.
This term our IDL is Fairyland. We will be looking at fairy tale stories and linking them to our school values. We received a very exciting letter from the Friendly Dragon asking us to help him save Fairyland by reading more fairy tale stories.
We focused on the story – Jack and the Beanstalk. We decided the school value Jack showed Courage Cat because he climbed high up the beanstalk and wasn’t scared of the giant.
We practised retelling the story using actions and retold the story to P1P. We also worked as part of a team to build a tall beanstalk.
We have been loving playing together and exploring in the Messy Garden.
All the classes in the school are using the Little People, Big Dreams series of books to concentrate on an inspiring individual.
