IDL

Continue to research your chosen endangered animal and create your poster. Practice presenting it to someone in your house. To extend this further you could video yourself presenting your talk and then self assess on reflection. When self assessing remember the three things to look for are:

  • speaking in a loud and clear voice
  • making eye contact with the audience
  • enjoying yourself and smiling!

Numeracy

Login to your Mathletics account (information is at the front of your diary). Choose a task to practice from some of the following – identifying numbers to 100, addition, subtraction, doubling and identifying odd/even numbers. There are also games that you could play linked to these areas on the website.

P2R Learning Gaelic.

This week P2R have had the pleasure of learning Gaelic with Mrs Battersby. The children learned different greetings, colours and all about the history of the Gaelic language. Thank you Mrs Battersby for this opportunity and we look forward to learning more!

Primary 2 – Life skills

P2 have been working together in the Messy garden and learning some valuable life skills.

  • We have been taking turns and communicating with our peers
  • Through building dens with our peers we have worked on our team skills
  • By using natural resources in the messy garden we have created beautiful pieces of art
  • We are in the beginning stages of learning how to risk assess with a partner

Ask me about some of the activities we have been doing in the messy garden!

Listening skills

Primary 2 have been enjoying learning new yoga skills on a Friday afternoon. The children have been practicing their balance and control as well as showing great listening skills. We have also been taking part in the ‘zen den’ challenge and practicing mindfulness at the end of our sessions.

When Plop and friends came to visit P2

We were lucky enough to have a visit from Bruckly Therapy Owls this afternoon. As part of our IDL ‘The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark’ we have been learning all about owls and nocturnal animals. We asked many interesting questions and got to stroke the owls. What a fantastic experience!

There will be pictures of your child and Plop in the learning journeys in Term 2. Ask your child what their favourite part of the visit was today!
