Term 3 IDL

At the end of 6 weeks learning about World War 2, our rich task was to answer the question: What does your heritage mean to you? Have a look at the variety of ways in which P6 responded!

Happy Christmas from P6

Here are some of the cards created for loved ones, friends and neighbours

Christmas Hamper event

We like to think the success of this year’s Christmas hampers was partly due to the quality of the posters! We are very grateful to Primary 2 for working with us, to Mrs Mathieson for her daily collections and of course to everyone who donated items!

We made a stone trail in Hazlehead Park with the P2s and our Christmas Stones

Our Thanksgiving ribbons

As part of our cross-curricular topic, Be the ChangeP6 are collaborating with P2 to deliver the Community Group Agenda and are hoping to learn more about our local community. We are focusing on how we can help the community. Our Big Questions are:

  • When were the primary schools and academy built?
  • What is the history of Hazlehead Park?
  • What can we do to improve our school grounds?
  • How can we help our local community?
  • How has COVID-19 affected local businesses?

Remembrance Day Stones

To mark Remembrance day, P6 painted stones. These were placed in the Remembrance Gardens in Hazlehead Park.

P6 enjoyed playing, building and searching for signs of autumn in the muddy garden this week, despite the weather!  ☔️ 🍁 🍃

More garden fun from the last few weeks: scavenger hunt, leaf rubbing and free play

All the classes in the school are using the Little People, Big Dreams series of books to concentrate on an inspiring individual.
