Add lemon juice to water and a spoonful of bicarbonate soda. What happens? It fizzes up! Why? The carbon dioxide is released when the lemon juice reacts with sodium bicarbonate. Adding sugar makes it taste like lemonade you buy in the shop. I’m not sure this pupil agrees!! Miss. Bowie
