Scottish Olympian Visits Hazlehead
We were absolutely thrilled on Monday October 1st to have Eilish McColgan, the team GB Middle Distance Runner in school speaking to some of the members of our running club and some friends from Hazlehead Academy and Airyhall School.
Eilish lead a practical session, showing our young runners how professional athletes warm up and train. We then went inside and had a very interesting Question and Answer session where our youngsters learned about some of the realities of being a professional athletes – the highs (world travel, medals…) and the lows (missing families and injuries).
Everyone was inspired – and remember, If You Believe In Yourself – Anything Is Possible, and as Eilish says –
