Introducing Tilly

Tilly is quite easily the most popular and the most recognisable member of the Hazlehead School family.

Tilly is our Therapy dog.  She is about 10 years old and she is a West Highland White Terrier, or a Westie.  She has been trained and is registered with the Pets As Therapy organisation – https://petsastherapy.org/

Tilly loves to hear people’s voices, so when she comes in to school she especially loves to hear children read – and often it’s very easy for our children to read to Tilly as they are relaxed with her.  She comes in on a Thursday afternoon and helps with reading in the library.

She doesn’t have a favourite book but she was very interested in one about squirrels last week..!

Pets As Therapy do say that the sessions can take a lot out of the therapy animals and Tilly certainly is very tired on a Thursday afternoon

Tilly is looking forward to the summer holidays – Mrs Mathers is taking Tilly camping, and that makes both of them very happy..!
