Aberdeen Foyer Job Skills Course
Aberdeen Foyer is running a Job Skills course for parents with children under 12. The course is in partnership with Nescol and we are now open to new students for an August start date.
In a nutshell, this 16-week course is delivered mostly over Zoom and provides opportunities to gain City and Guilds extended level 1 employability and food hygiene certificates. Participants will also have the opportunity take part in a wide range of activities such as arts, cooking, Tai Chi, and mindfulness and yoga, as well as some away days (during the last course we spent the day at Duthie Park winter gardens making willow lanterns and learning about the gardens with the children!). External organizations host talks throughout the course, providing support in areas such as finance, career advice, further education, and child health. At its core, the course aims to support the whole person, taking a holistic and responsive approach to delivery.
The course is free, and clients will receive access to a laptop, Wi-Fi and childcare where needed. The next course starts on the 29/08/2023 with hours between 9.30 am – 2.30 pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
